First Congregational Church of Madison, 26 Meetinghouse Lane, Friday, October 25 at 7pm, $20 recommended donation at the door.
Join us as organist Nathan J. Bayreuther presents Pipescreams, a recital of music for Halloween! Works to be presented include Louis Vierne’s Fantômes, Camille Saint-Saëns’ Danse Macabre, Henri Mulet’s Chapelle des Morts (Chapel of the Dead), Edvard Grieg’s In the Hall of the Mountain King, Johann Sebastian Bach’s famous Toccata and Fugue in D Minor, and more.
He will be joined by guest reader Peter Hawkins who will present Halloween-themed poems from such classical writers as Edith Wharton, Henry Wadsworth Longfellow, and Henri Cazalis in between music selections.
Video cameras will be set up by the organ console so listeners may watch Nathan’s hands and feet in action on a projection screen as he performs.
