Balance Dance Studio is in their 19th year in beautiful Alpine, UT. Miss Paula opened her basement studio on September 11th, 2001. A day that will always be remembered. Our brand new studio located in the historic gateway district of Alpine is making its debut this fall 2019!
BALANCE is a fun and low-key studio that focuses on promoting personal and artistic expression and growth. Your child will learn to express him or herself more easily, gain poise, self-confidence, and self-awareness.
BALANCE STUDIO will further develop your child’s natural love of movement. Dance is a total experience involving the physical, intellectual, emotional and spiritual dimensions of an individual that helps us to perceive and communicate who we are and what we aspire to become. Dance develops distinct ways of seeing, thinking, and communicating ideas and feelings. Dance is an expressive movement that has the power to enrich lives
There is nothing better than teaching young children to dance. It is a passion, a gift and an honor to Miss Paula. Miss Paula is the owner and director of BALANCE STUDIO and has been dancing for over 40 years.
Dance has been a big part of Paula’s life from the beginning. She grew up training at her aunt's dance studio learning tap & jazz. When she was 13 a classical ballet teacher moved to town and she fell in love! She has trained in classical ballet, tap, modern, clogging, with most of her time spent in jazz.
She is a graduate of Snow College where she majored in dance & fell in love with modern dance. She was the president of the performing dance company, Orchesis, and was honored as a soloist and student choreographer. Paula is also a graduate of the University of Utah where she was a member of the Crimson Line Dance Team. Go Utes! She received a BS in Exercise and Sport Science with a minor in Health and is a certified high school teacher.
She is a certified Master Teacher Level 1 in the Leap ‘N Learn Early Childhood Dance Program. Paula has taught in the private studio setting for over twenty years and in the public school setting for three years, where she also coached the Bingham High School Minerettes.
Paula loves to choreograph and is thrilled to share her love of dance with children in her own studio. After 18 years in Miss Paula's basement, she is excited to open her own space outside of her home. The new building is a gift and Paula can't wait to give back to so many that have supported her throughout the years.
Paula loves to hike in the red rocks and the beautiful mountains, sit on beaches with her husband, craves meditation and thinks heaven on earth is going to Lake Powell with her family! She loves to attend group fitness classes, hopes to be an official yogi someday soon, loves to learn about people and help others find joy through movement.
Paula and her husband Casey have lived in Alpine for twenty-one years and they have four children.
