Since 2009, the nonprofit Tube City Community Media Inc. has provided
the city of McKeesport and the surrounding Monongahela and Youghiogheny river valley communities of Western Pennsylvania with local news and information through our flagship website, Tube City Online.
In 2015, Tube City Community Media launched a free community Internet radio station, now branded as Tube City Online Radio, and beginning in 2016, our online newspaper, The Tube City Almanac, began enhanced local coverage of the City of McKeesport, McKeesport Area School District, the City of Duquesne, North Versailles Township, the East Allegheny School District, and White Oak Borough, as well as a free online death notice and obituary service.
Based in the Tube City Center for Business and Innovation (the former McKeesport Daily News Building), Tube City Community Media's websites annually serve more than 120,000 unique visitors, 70 percent of whom are in Southeast Allegheny County. Tube City Online Radio features non-commercial programming that includes new and local music, talk shows hosted by local residents, and live coverage of local events and entertainment. More than 3,000 monthly listeners regularly tune in. Tube City Community Media also produces "Two Rivers, 30 Minutes," a weekly public affairs podcast about the Mon-Yough region, that is also broadcast on WEDO (810AM), and WZUM (1550AM/101.FM).
