Albany Vascular is a resource for patients in need of information regarding all types of vascular conditions. Our highly trained and qualified staff is dedicated to the treatment and prevention of peripheral vascular disease. We consider all options for the most up-to-date treatment types available, including surgical, nonsurgical or minimally invasive endovascular options.
Vascular disease includes coronary heart disease (heart attacks and angina), stroke, diabetes and kidney disease. While they all affect the body in different ways, there are all linked by a common set of risk factors, including obesity, physical inactivity, smoking and high blood pressure.
Unfortunately, Southwest Georgia has an extremely high rate of these risk factors among the population. Our staff strives to not only treat patients with existing conditions, but also educate them on preventive tactics with an overall goal of helping reduce the high mortality rates from vascular disease in our region.
Opened in summer 2008, Albany Vascular is headed by Dr. Joe Harris "Tripp" Morgan III, a native of Camilla, Georgia who chose to return to his roots to practice medicine in an underserved rural area. In a field that on average graduates only 100 new vascular surgeons each year, Dr. Morgan is an exemplary vascular surgeon, who worked for a number of years as a pharmacist before returning to medical school.
Dr. Morgan has privileges and performs operations and procedures at both local hospitals, Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital and Palmyra Medical Center. He also has the ability to perform many procedures at Albany Vascular Specialist Center or at the same location in the surgical suites of Vascular Health and Wellness. Whichever method is required for your situation, you can rest assured that you will be tended by some of the most highly skilled medical staff working in this field.
