Northeastern Utah is a vast area with more to see and do than anyone can experience in a single trip. Flaming Gorge Reservoir is a haven for boaters and fishermen alike, and surrounded by grand rocky shoreline as it is, it's also popular with hikers.

Dinoland's state parks, Red Fleet, Steinaker, Starvation, and Utah Field House of Natural History State Park Museum, are all well worth a visit. Finding dinosaur tracks, exploring (and fishing) reservoirs and discovering more about natural history are just a little of what you can do within these parks.

Dinosaur National Monument may well be Northeastern Utah's crowning destination. Discover fragments of a long ago world where the largest land creatures of all time once roamed and died. Whitewater rafting and hiking are also common, and fun, activities in Dinosaur National Monument.

Vernal is a historic city situated between Flaming Gorge and Dinosaur National Monument. It is also home to Utah Field House of Natural History State Park Museum and close to two other state parks, as well as a host of historic sites. Western style events, such as the Dinosaur Round-up Rodeo, are frequent.

Roosevelt and Duchesne also share a rich western heritage, and Duchesne is home to Starvation State Park. Cultural events and natural landmarks define these cities. Duchesne County is also the gateway to the High Uinta's Wilderness.
