Colorado County Habitat for Humanity is a local affiliate of a global, nonprofit Christian housing organization committed to building strength, stability, and self-reliance through shelter. Established as an affiliate in 1996, the organization dedicated its first home in 1997 and has continued to grow its impact across Colorado County ever since. Through the generosity of donors, volunteers, and community partners, including a transformational gift in 2006, the organization has helped make safe and affordable homeownership a reality for dozens of families and currently supports 27 active mortgages. In 2021, Colorado County Habitat for Humanity proudly celebrated 25 years of service to the community.
Guided by a mission to put God’s love into action, the organization brings people together to build homes, communities, and hope. In 2023, this commitment expanded with the launch of the Critical Home Repairs Program, allowing more homeowners to remain safely in their homes. By November 2025, more than $200,000 had been invested in critical repairs, improving living conditions for 28 families. With a clear vision of a world where everyone has a decent place to live, Colorado County Habitat for Humanity continues to serve Columbus and the surrounding areas with compassion, integrity, and purpose.
