Gunnison Trails is a dedicated nonprofit trail advocacy group rooted in the heart of Gunnison County, Colorado. Since 2006, we’ve been working alongside land managers, local partners, and community members to keep our trails safe, sustainable, and accessible for everyone. Whether it’s maintaining existing paths, building new trail systems, or educating outdoor enthusiasts on responsible recreation, our focus is always on protecting the natural beauty of our area while supporting a thriving outdoor lifestyle.

Our mission is grounded in collaboration and stewardship. We partner with the Bureau of Land Management, the U.S. Forest Service, Colorado Parks and Wildlife, and other key stakeholders to address trail-related projects and issues. From maintaining more than 40 miles of Hartman Rocks trails to developing the Signal Peak Trail System, our team works year-round to support sustainable trail use across Gunnison County. With a strong Trail Crew dedicated to hands-on construction and maintenance, we continue to build trails that withstand both the elements and high use, while educating users on responsible trail practices and protecting wildlife habitats.
