KCEN HD CH 6

KCEN HD CH 6, the premier NBC affiliate serving the vibrant communities of Temple, Waco, Killeen, and Bryan-College Station within DMA 89. With a commitment to excellence, we deliver premium programming to approximately 890,000 individuals across 330,000 households throughout Central Texas. Established in 1953, KCEN-HD has been a cornerstone of local broadcasting, initially under the ownership of the Frank Mayborn interests before being acquired by the London Broadcasting Company in May 2009.

At our inception, KCEN-HD broke new ground by setting up operations amidst secondary cities and rural areas, boasting the tallest tower in the Southwest with studios and an 830-foot structure located in Eddy, Texas. Despite modest beginnings, our signal covered 32 counties with an authorized maximum power of 100 kwh on Channel 6 VHF, showcasing our dedication to reaching communities far and wide. Over the years, KCEN-HD has evolved from its humble origins to become a vital media hub, now serving three major standard metropolitan statistical areas: Temple-Killeen, Waco, and Bryan-College Station. Strategically situated halfway between Temple and Waco on a sprawling 25-acre tract of land along IH-35, our transmitter and studios stand as a testament to our enduring commitment to serving the diverse needs of Central Texas.
