American Cancer Society Cancer Action Network

The American Cancer Society Cancer Action Network (ACS CAN) is a dedicated advocate for evidence-based public policies aimed at reducing the burden of cancer for all individuals. With a strong network of volunteers across the nation, we strive to ensure that the voices of those affected by cancer are heard by policymakers at every level of government. Our mission is rooted in the belief that everyone deserves an equal opportunity to prevent, detect, treat, and survive cancer.

As the nonprofit, nonpartisan advocacy affiliate of the American Cancer Society since 2001, ACS CAN has been instrumental in securing billions of dollars in funding for cancer research, as well as expanding access to high-quality and affordable healthcare. Additionally, our efforts have led to advancements in proven tobacco control measures. We are committed to standing alongside our volunteers—individuals whose lives have been touched by cancer—as we collectively demand change.

Together with our dedicated advocates, we are working tirelessly to elevate cancer as a top priority for public officials and candidates at all levels of government—federal, state, and local. By amplifying the voices of our advocates nationwide, ACS CAN has successfully influenced legislative and regulatory solutions that aim to transform the landscape of cancer care for everyone.

Our ultimate goal is to bring about an end to cancer as we currently know it. Through strategic engagement with policymakers and unwavering support from our passionate volunteers, ACS CAN remains steadfast in its pursuit of creating a future where no one has to endure the devastating impact of this disease. Join us in our fight against cancer and help us shape a world where equitable access to prevention, treatment, and survival resources is a reality for all.
