Colorado River Concerts

Colorado River Concerts, formerly known as Colorado River Community Concerts, has a rich history dating back to the 1930’s when the concept of community concerts first emerged in the United States. In response to a desire for live performing arts in small communities nationwide, Columbia Artists in New York developed a groundbreaking plan to raise funds for touring performances through locally based organizations. This led to the establishment of non-profit, all-volunteer groups like Colorado River Community Concerts in the mid-1970’s.

Today, Colorado River Concerts continues to bring world-class entertainment to Bullhead City and surrounding Colorado River communities with the assistance of Live On Stage, a Nashville-based company that previews hundreds of artists each year. The all-volunteer Board of Directors carefully selects performers for each season, ensuring an exceptional lineup for audiences.

In addition to presenting live performances at Mohave High School Auditorium, Colorado River Concerts is committed to providing educational outreach programs for local youth. These efforts have included over 60 mini-concerts at no charge to students or schools, made possible through season sponsors. By inspiring an interest in performing arts among young people, Colorado River Concerts aims to cultivate future audiences and artists.

Through its dedication to fostering a love for live performing arts, Colorado River Concerts has played a significant role in contributing to the growth of local symphonies, theaters, and dance companies nationwide. With featured artists such as Aspen Santa Fe Ballet, Terry Barber, John Berry, and many more over the years, Colorado River Concerts remains dedicated to enriching the cultural landscape of its community.
