Museum of North Idaho

The Museum of North Idaho, located in Coeur d'Alene, has been dedicated to preserving and sharing the rich history of the Coeur d'Alene region since its establishment in 1968. Originally envisioned by the North Idaho Hoo Hoo Club, the museum has evolved from its initial location at North Idaho College to its current site. Through the dedication of volunteers and community support, it has grown to become a central institution for the region's historical preservation, offering extensive collections and engaging programs.

In recent years, the Museum of North Idaho has expanded its capacity to better serve the community. In 2019, the museum secured a significant land lease with the City of Coeur d'Alene, which enabled the relocation of the historic 1902 J.C. White House to its grounds. This historic landmark is now the centerpiece of the museum's new, larger facility, which spans 11,300 square feet. This expansion allows the museum to host a wider array of exhibits and educational programs, solidifying its role as a vital resource for understanding and appreciating the history of North Idaho.
