Weather Vane, originally a milk store opened by Bill and Vera Sage in 1960 on Washington Avenue to support their daughter's college education, transitioned into an ice cream shop due to successful dessert sales. Over the years, ownership changed hands to Doug and Susan Schulte in 1985, and then to Jason Brown, who expanded the business to multiple locations in the Granite City area. Known for quality products and community involvement, Weather Vane now offers a diverse menu including food and frozen desserts, with plans to introduce indoor dining options at their locations.
