Differential Response Family Support

The Differential Response Family Support team works together with Clark County Child Protective Services (CPS) to assess families who are in need of community support and assistance. The DR program is designed to help families (all referred through the Child Abuse and Neglect Hotline) break the cycle of CPS involvement without removing children.

The Differential Response team makes home and school visits based on the reports made to the CPS Child Abuse and Neglect Hotline and offers various types of assistance based on the nature of the report.

During these assessment visits, the family may be referred to other services in our local area, but most families benefit from this type of early intervention. Our assessment focuses on the family’s unique strengths and needs.

Our goal is to reduce the risk of future CPS involvement and provide unique family interventions that allow the family to move forward independently and productively and avoid future CPS investigations.

If you suspect child abuse or neglect – call (702)399-0081 or in case of an emergency call 911

In co-operation with NV Dept. of Health & Human Services, Office of Community Partnerships and Grants

Peer Parent Advocate Program

Parents guiding Parents through the reunification process

The Peer Parent Advocate Program works with families who have had children removed by Child Protective Services (CPS) and are now on the path towards reunification. Because our Peer Parent Advocates have reunified with their own children, they have a solid understanding of the overwhelming experience removal can be. Peer Parent Advocates also have a higher reunification rate working side by side with parents because they themselves know the joy and success of reunification for the entire family, especially the children.

If you or someone you know could use a Peer Parent Advocate call : 702-631-7098 option 3 and ask about orientation to get started!

Senior Respite Program

If you or someone you know is 55 or older and is the primary caregiver for a relative’s child, you need to know about our Senior Respite Program. Respite is essential to mental, physical and economic wellness of “second time” parents. We can help you meet the challenge of parenting by offering financial assistance for childcare or activities; to free up time that you can use for you! Run errands, take a class, make an appointment or just relax. A rested and relaxed caregiver may be the best caregiver.
