American Red Cross

The American Red Cross of South Central and Southeast Kansas, headquartered in Wichita, KS, is a vital part of the broader American Red Cross Kansas and Oklahoma Region, serving a population of nearly 7 million people across multiple counties. Our organization is dedicated to providing essential services 365 days a year, responding promptly to local emergencies such as home fires, supporting military personnel and their families, and offering critical training in first aid and CPR to community groups. We also play a crucial role in maintaining the blood supply through regular blood drives held throughout the region.

Our ability to deliver these crucial services is made possible through the dedication of our volunteers and the generous support of donors. As a non-governmental organization, the American Red Cross relies heavily on contributions of time, money, and blood donations to carry out its humanitarian mission. Approximately 90 cents of every dollar donated is directed toward funding our programs and services, ensuring that resources are efficiently utilized to meet the needs of the communities we serve.

Preparedness is at the core of our approach. We prioritize proactive measures such as training volunteers extensively and developing comprehensive disaster response plans tailored to the specific risks faced by our community. By empowering individuals, businesses, and community groups with the necessary skills and knowledge, we aim to build resilience and enhance preparedness levels across the region. Together, we strive to create safer and more resilient communities that can effectively respond to emergencies and disasters when they arise.
