Peninsula Health Care District

Established on December 2, 1947, Peninsula Health Care District (PHCD) has been at the forefront of addressing the health needs of the community in Burlingame, CA, and beyond. Governed by a publicly elected 5-member board of directors, our organization has transitioned from its origins of building, owning, and governing Peninsula Hospital to becoming a multifaceted entity dedicated to bringing health-focused programs and services to residents. Throughout our more than seven decades of service, PHCD has remained steadfast in its commitment to being the community's partner in achieving optimal health.

At PHCD, our organizational strategy is guided by a clear mission, vision, core values, and focus areas aimed at promoting residents' health and wellness. Through collaboration with local stakeholders, innovative initiatives, and a dedication to excellence, we continuously strive to enhance the well-being of individuals across the Peninsula. From advocating for equitable access to healthcare to supporting preventive care efforts, our initiatives are designed to address the diverse health needs of our community.

As we look to the future, PHCD remains committed to upholding our legacy of service and excellence. Our ongoing efforts are driven by a deep-seated belief in the power of community collaboration and the importance of preventive healthcare. By fostering partnerships, embracing innovation, and prioritizing the health and wellness of residents, we are dedicated to making a meaningful and lasting impact on the lives of those we serve.
