Friends Of DeLeon Springs State Park
The Friends of DeLeon Springs State Park, Inc. is a distinguished 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to the preservation and enhancement of DeLeon Springs State Recreation Area. Established in 1987 by passionate advocates of the park, our organization serves as a vital support system for this cherished natural haven. Our primary objective is to foster historical, educational, and ecological enrichment within the park's expanse. Through generous contributions and fundraising efforts, we provide essential supplementary funding for various endeavors, including the acquisition of equipment, facility enhancements, exhibit development, and other initiatives aimed at enriching the visitor experience.
Our showcase project, the park's Visitor Center, is at the heart of our endeavors, a beacon of knowledge and discovery for all who traverse its doors. Boasting an array of captivating displays featuring artifacts unearthed in and around the spring, along with interpretive exhibits detailing the park's illustrious 6,000-year history and its invaluable natural resources, the Visitor Center stands as a testament to our commitment to education and preservation. As officers of the Friends of DeLeon Springs State Park, we extend a warm invitation to you to join our cause, whether by becoming a Friend, volunteering your time and expertise alongside us, or contributing to our noble mission. Together, we can ensure that DeLeon Springs State Park continues to flourish and thrive for generations to come.
