Friends of Plumas County Animals
Welcome to Friends of Plumas County Animals, where compassion meets dedication. At Friends, our commitment to the well-being of animals is unwavering, and our unique approach sets us apart in the realm of animal rescue. Operating solely on the dedication of passionate volunteers, we tackle a myriad of responsibilities, from shelter maintenance to board governance, with no one on our team receiving a salary. Our existence is sustained by the generous donations of animal lovers, much like yourself, who recognize the importance of providing a haven for abandoned, forgotten, and displaced animals.
Our mission extends beyond mere sheltering as we actively address the root causes of animal homelessness. From rescuing pets left behind by those who move or are no longer able to care for them, to aiding homeless pet owners and feral mothers and litters, Friends of Plumas County Animals is dedicated to making a positive impact on the lives of animals in need. We collaborate with the Plumas County Animal Shelter and employ various strategies, including spaying and neutering, to control feral cat populations and prevent further suffering.
What sets us apart is our commitment to creating a supportive environment for both animals and the community. We house animals together for socialization, provide specialized care for pregnant females, and offer unique amenities like a kitten playroom with activity gyms and window cat patios. Moreover, we actively engage with the community through programs like Crisis Food, offering free pet food to those in need, and providing community service opportunities in collaboration with Social Services. Located at 1093 Lee Road, Quincy, CA 95971, Friends of Plumas County Animals is not just a shelter; it's a community-driven force for positive change in the lives of animals and their human companions.
