Root for Kids
Root for Kids (previously known as The Learning Center for Families) is a non-profit organization located in Southern Utah that provides services for children and families in need of extra support. We help families create a nurturing environment for optimal growth and development for each child. Since 1993, Root for Kids has served over 20,000 families through Early Head Start, Early Intervention, and Parents as Teachers home visiting programs in Washington County, San Juan County, and the Arizona Strip.
Root for Kids is home to the Caterpillar Clubhouse, a private pay Early Childhood Development Child Care Center for children ages 6 weeks to three. There is a popular quote that says “Children need two things, one is roots, the other is wings.” Root for Kids is one resource in the community to help grow & strengthen those roots.
Root for Kids also holds weekly Kindermusik classes offering family music classes for children and their parents or caregivers. The research-based curricula and interactive music experiences establish a foundation of early learning that supports sustained growth, confidence, and creativity throughout the life of a child. As a result, Kindermusik helps children acquire new vocabulary, improve memory and ability to learn new information, practice working with other children in a group, and much more.
