American Lung Association In New Mexico
Welcome to the American Lung Association in New Mexico, located in Albuquerque. As the leading organization dedicated to improving lung health and preventing lung disease, we are committed to saving lives through research, education, and advocacy.
With a rich history spanning over 115 years, the American Lung Association was initially founded by a group of passionate volunteers who aimed to combat the prevalent lung health threat of the time: tuberculosis. Since then, our mission has expanded to address a wide range of respiratory diseases. Today, we are proud to be America's trusted source for lung health education, lung disease research, support, programs, services, and advocacy.
Our mission is clear: to save lives by improving lung health and preventing lung disease. We achieve this by focusing on three core pillars: education, advocacy, and research. For more than a century, the American Lung Association has been entrusted by Americans to protect their lungs and ensure their well-being. Whether it's conducting groundbreaking research for effective treatments and cures, safeguarding children from tobacco and e-cigarettes, or advocating for policies that protect the air we all breathe, we remain steadfast in our commitment to lung health.
At the American Lung Association in New Mexico, our goals are ambitious. We strive to defeat lung cancer, foster a tobacco-free future, champion clean air for all, and enhance the quality of life for individuals living with lung disease and their families. By working together with our dedicated donors, volunteers, program and event participants, and skilled staff, we are making significant strides toward our vision of a world free of lung disease.
We firmly believe that when you can't breathe, nothing else matters.® That's why we are dedicated to providing support, resources, and advocacy to ensure everyone has the opportunity to breathe freely and live a healthy life.
Join us in our mission to save lives, improve lung health, and prevent lung disease. Together, we can make a lasting impact on the well-being of individuals and communities across New Mexico.
