Heather Hunter began her career in the mortgage industry in 2002, starting out as an assistant to a small mortgage broker. Quickly learning the ropes, she transitioned into the role of licensed loan officer, moving into the wholesale arena of mortgage lending and working as a multi-million dollar producing rep with Wholesale Lending Online and Vertice/Wachovia for several years.
Her desire to work directly with consumers led her back to loan originating, where she was able to incorporate into her work her passion for educating homeowners and first-time buyers on how to successfully navigate the mortgage process while also avoiding unscrupulous lenders along the way.
Putting honesty, ethics, and transparent communication back into mortgage lending has been the cornerstone of Heather’s career, an element she was able to build into the loan officer coaching program she developed for Big Valley Mortgage while in the role of Branch Manager there for several years.
Heather loves working with her referral partners and is particularly adept at dealing with real estate investors and self-employed borrowers. Operating from a place of integrity as a top producer in her field, she has employed out-of-the-box thinking to help over a thousand borrowers achieve their homeownership dreams and has closed over $200 million in business in the past five years alone.
A graduate of the University of California, Santa Barbara, with a B.A. in Psychology, Heather loves traveling, watching sports, wine tasting, going out to new restaurants, giving back to the community, and spending precious quality time with her husband John, and baby girl Emma.
