The Compassionate Exchange (TCE) removes barriers for young adults with disabilities by preparing them for work. We offer vocational skills training at multiple tiers. TCE desires to help young adults with disabilities between the ages of 16 - 24 meet their fullest potential by providing an inclusive career development and transition support program that encourages risk-taking and invites sharing ideas. The elements conducive to establishing this environment are: believing that disabled adults have potential, providing them with the necessary tools for learning, and promoting success in the work environment.
To help young adults with disabilities break down barriers we:
- ASSESS clients to create an individualized plan
- EXPLORE their career options
- DEVELOP soft and work-readiness skills
- APPLY skills learned through internship opportunities
- ADVOCATE for their needs in the workplace
Our long-term goals are to improve disabled youths' participation in vocational, and employment-related activities, increase their enrollment in postsecondary education/training, and increase disabled adults' success in postsecondary options.
