The ARC Volusia
Home

The Arc of Volusia was founded in 1961 by the parents of seven children with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD) and three committed community members. Officially recognized by the State of Florida as a nonprofit organization in 1962, the agency has since been dedicated to supporting individuals with I/DD and their families through advocacy, empowerment, and community inclusion.

Guided by a vision of full participation, The Arc of Volusia works to ensure that individuals with I/DD are valued members of their communities throughout their lives. Through programs and services that promote hope, growth, and positive change, the organization helps people with I/DD achieve their potential and lead fulfilling lives.

At the core of The Arc of Volusia are values rooted in respect, dignity, and human rights. Every individual is recognized as a contributing member of society, and the organization is committed to fostering environments where people with I/DD are supported, empowered, and fully included.
